Curwen Primary School

Assessment

At our school, we use a clear and structured approach to assess student progress. Each term, we use NfER (National Foundation for Educational Research) papers for summative assessments. These assessments provide us with important information about each child's learning and development.

Teachers use the results from these assessments, along with their observations from the classroom, to form well-rounded judgments about each student's progress. These combined insights help us understand how well our students are grasping key concepts and where they might need additional support.

We value keeping parents informed, so we share these teacher judgments three times a year. This regular communication helps parents stay connected with their child's educational journey and understand their progress throughout the year. Our goal is to support every student's learning in the best way possible.
